Ubisoft’s latest gameplay trailer shows how a typical For Honor Breach match might unfold for attackers and defenders alike.
During an E3 presentation last night, Ubisoft stated its committment to improving and expanding upon the historical-action gameplay of For Honor, adding more heroes and a brand-new gameplay mode called Breach. Now a new trailer for Breach mode details why its gameplay will be exciting for fans who clamored for in-game siege warfare.
Breach is a 4v4 PVP siege mode. In each game, one team must attempt to assault a fortress and kill its king while a defending team keeps them at bay.
Each match consists of three phases. In phase one and two, the attacking team must escort a battering ram to a defensive gate. Opponents can slow and even destroy the battering ram if the team manages to rally a strong defense. Maps will also split your focus across three lanes – the central lane follows the battering ram’s path, while the side lanes spawn archers for the team that controls it. Defenders can also slow the attacking teams approach through equipment like ballistas and cauldrons.
In phase three, the attacking team reaches the courtyard and must face the King – a powerful AI unit that battles alongside player characters. At this point in the game, combat continues until either the King falls or the attacking team loses all of their respawn tokens.
Breach mode will debut when For Honor: Marching Fire launches on October 16,2018. The standard edition of the game can be downloaded for free until June 18.
