President Donald Trump Tweeted on Sunday, calling for immigrants who illegally enter the U. S. to be sent “back from where they came” without going through the judicial process in deportation cases.
In a pair of Tweets, while being driven to his Virginia golf course, Trump explicitly advocated depriving undocumented immigrants of their due-process rights, writing that illegal immigrants crossing our border with Mexico must immediately be deported without trial.
We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came. Our system is a mockery to good immigration policy and Law and Order. Most children come without parents… — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 24,2018
…. Our Immigration policy, laughed at all over the world, is very unfair to all of those people who have gone through the system legally and are waiting on line for years! Immigration must be based on merit – we need people who will help to Make America Great Again! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 24,2018
Trump’s latest Twitter tantrum will draw the ire of his critics and immigration advocates and I certainly hope any Congressional members who still believe in our legal system. It is pretty much a given that the Twitter-in-Chief’s die-hard base will love this latest message from on high, though.
Trump has been a strong advocate for immigration laws that stop illegal entry into the U. S., including building his 2,000-mile border wall. And with the implementation of his « zero-tolerance » policy, earlier this year, he is still appealing to the baser racial bias found in many people, especially with his fear-mongering.
It is disgusting that the man who is supposed to represent the whole of the United States continues with his divisive and hate-filled rhetoric every time he opens his mouth, calling people seeking sanctuary from horrendous situations in some Latin American countries: members of MS-13, drug dealers, child traffickers and likening these people to an « infestation. »
And yes, some of this may be true, but to put a label on all Latin Americans seeking to come to the U. S. is not any different from what Trump tried to do in banning immigrants from Muslim countries. It is fairly obvious that if you’re not lily-white and educated, Trump doesn’t want you in his country.
Perhaps even worse than using the plight of undocumented children and their separation from their parents, is the hate he continues to spew against a U. S. political party – the Democrats. Apparently, in his narrow-minded pursuit of his idea of America, he wants to be completely isolated from the outside world – Trump is willing to sacrifice the over 60 percent of the population who did not vote for him.
Trump told Republicans in Nevada he needs a GOP majority Congress to pass his immigration laws. « I like the issue for election, too: Our issue is strong borders, no crime; their issue is open borders, let MS-13 all over our country, » Trump told the state GOP convention in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
