AMD To Host Reveal Event For Ryzen Threadripper 2990X In Partnership With Ferrari In July 2018

AMD is yet to reveal Ryzen Threadripper 2990X and seems like it will be revealed later this month as AMD intends to host the reveal event with Ferarri.
AMD announced its 2nd-gen Ryzen Threadripper at Computex 2018 with 32 cores and 64 threads. However, AMD is yet to reveal its 2nd-gen Ryzen Threadripper 2990X and seems like it will be revealed later this month as AMD intends to host the reveal event for 2nd-gen Threadripper with Ferrari.
AMD has reportedly partnered with Ferrari for the reveal event of 2nd-gen Ryzen Threadripper 2990X and will be hosting the event at Maranello in Northern Italy.
This falls in line with AMD’s announcement back in April that will be sponsoring Scuderia Ferrari F1 as part of a partnership with Ferrari that will last for multiple years.
The partnership will see the AMD’s logo to be featured on the nose of the SF71H F1, on the arms of the pit crew and official trucks. According to John Taylor, chief marketing officer for AMD:
AMD hosting its reveal event for Ryzen Threadripper 2990X makes sense since the company has signed a multi-year partnering deal with the company. However, until it is official, take it with a grain of salt.
While AMD is yet to officially announce the specs for Threadripper 2990X but thanks to multiple leaks, the specs for the upcoming 2nd-gen Threadripper has been revealed.
According to leaks, the Threadripper 2990X will feature 3 GHz base clock and a boost clock of 4 GHz. Furthermore, the processor features 3MB L1 Cache, 16MB L2 Cache and 64MB L3 Cache along with XFR support which will give up to 200MHz of boost to the CPU’s clock speed.
Furthermore, the report suggests that AMD has canceled 16-core 2950X and 24-core 2970X. The reason for the cancelation was Intel announcing the 28-core Core X CPU.
Also, Ryzen 3 2300X And Ryzen 5 2500X have popped up online along with their specs and benchmarks. According to the benchmarks, the 2300X features 4 cores with 3.5 GHz of base clock and the 2500X features 4 Cores and 8 threads with a base clock of 3.6 GHz.
Not only that, both leaked processors feature boost clock of 3.99 GHz and 8 MB of L3 Cache.
