NEW DELHI: Recently it was reported that Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has suspended the Android 8.1 Oreo update for its Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone. Now the company has started rolling out the stable version of Android 8.1 for the smartphone.
The company has resolved the SMS bug which reportedly wiped all the SMS history after updating the device. Apart from fixing the issue, the update also brings the security patch for the month of July 2018.
The update comes with the build number OPM1.171019.026. V9.6.4.0. ODHMIFE and it weighs 467MB in size. The customers who have not yet updated to the phone to Android 8.1 they will get an update of 1.15GB in size. The changelog also highlights that the update will also optimize the performance of the smartphone.
To recall, Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 was launched last year and is the first phone of the company to come with stock Android. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution. The display is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The device is powered by mid-range octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clubbed with 4GB RAM and Adreno 506 GPU.
The handset offer 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera with 12MP wide angle and a 12MP telephoto lens for an improved bokeh effect in portrait shots. The telephoto lens enabled 2x optical zoom. This pairs with Mi A1’s 10x digital zoom. Some of the camera features users will get include Beautify 3.0, Portrait Mode, HDR and more. At the front, the smartphone has a 5MP camera.
The smartphone is backed by a 3080 mAh battery and it offers all the essential connectivity options.
