Rumor suggests that the Galaxy Note9, expected to be unveiled on August 9, might launch with a 512GB internal storage variant that costs a staggering €1,250. The base-tier 64GB might not be offered.
As we inch closer to the official reveal of the Samsung Galaxy Note9 on the 9th of August, rumors and leaks about the device keep pouring in. Over the past few weeks, we’ve got sneak peeks at the slightly updated design of the device, some details on the updated S Pen, and just last week, hints of one of the color variants of the flagship phablet. Today, another rumor suggests that a version with 512GB of internal storage might be launched, and may cost a whopping €1,250.
There already have been reports hinting at the possibility of the device launching with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of on-board storage. Today’s report builds on those rumors and claims that according to traders in the know, the Note9 will ship with a base storage of 128GB, costing around €1,050 ($1,228). It also adds that the base variant will be available in black, blue and purple colors, or better known as Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple, guessing from previous models. In comparison, the Galaxy S9’s basic tier started at 64GB of internal storage.
However, a top-of-the-line configuration packing 512GB of internal storage will cost a whopping €1,250 ($1,462), states the report. Additionally, WinFuture also notes that the 256GB variant will not be launched in the European market. If these reports are true, the Note9 will definitely continue the increasing price trend for Samsung flagships, going head to head with the top-tier iPhone X in terms of pricing.
As for other specifications, we have already heard murmurs that the Note9 will pack a 6.4-inch display and a 4,000mAh battery. It is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor (or the Exynos 9810 processor, depending on the market it is sold in).
All speculation must be taken with a grain of salt, as there will always be an air of doubt about the authenticity of the information. However, it is not too long of a wait until we find out.
