More than a half-century after he went missing in South Korea, the remains of a US Army veteran from the New York area have been identified, military officials announced Tuesday.
First Lt. Herman L. Falk of Manhattan was just 22 when he died in a North Korean prisoner of war camp, according to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
He was helping the Republic of Korea Army attack the Chinese People’s Volunteer Force in Changbong-ni, South Korea, when half his platoon went missing on Feb.
