A number of Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have been attacked by demonstrators apposing Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination in light of a series of recent sexual misconduct allegations.
Senator Bill Cassidy is notably the latest GOP member to be targeted by a Brett Kavanaugh demonstrator.
On Monday, Senator Bill Cassidy was walking in the premises of a Senate office building when he was addressed by a woman who demanded that he explain to her why he’s backing Kavanaugh. The episode is captured on a video recently released online.
Cassidy responded, asking her how she would react to her husband’s or son’s life being, as he put it, « destroyed » by an « uncorroborated » charge.
US Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh is accused of sexual misconduct in the 1980s by three women: Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick. He has vehemently denied the allegations, branding them during his testimony last week “a calculated and orchestrated political hit.”
