Hope Hicks Hired as New Fox’s Chief Communications Officer

G. E.’s Danny O’Brien joins as head of government relations. Both will report to Fox’s Chief Legal and Policy Officer Viet Dinh
“New Fox” has named Hope Hicks its chief communications officer. Additionally, the company has hired Danny O’Brien as its head of government relations.
Both join with EVP-level titles.
“Hope and Danny are proven leaders and world-class public affairs professionals. Together they will define and project FOX’s voice to our relevant communities,” said Viet Dinh, Fox’s Chief Legal and Policy Officer in a press statement Monday. Hicks will be working from the company’s Los Angeles office.
Hicks most recently served as White House Communications Director and Director of Strategic Communications for President Trump. In these roles, she oversaw the administration’s communications strategy and led a team responsible for creating and coordinating key messages relating to economic issues, domestic policies and international affairs.

The appointments take effect upon close of the Disney transaction and the creation of spinoff company, now being referred to as “Fox.”
Hicks, a relatively unknown public relations specialist with Ivanka Trump, rocketed to fame during the 2016 election and went on to become one of President Trump’s closest and most long-serving aides. She joined up with the billionaire in the earliest moments of the presidential campaign and followed him into the White House.
In the famously volatile administration, Hicks ultimately rose to the position of Communications Director after several more senior officials in the positions exited. She departed the West Wing herself in March.
Hicks is famously reclusive and has never sat for an on-camera interview either during her time in the White House or since.
