If you are someone that dislikes the display notch found on smartphones, you’re really going to hate the Pixel 3 XL and its latest software glitch that adds a second notch to the screen.
When folks look back on the year 2018 with regards to Android smartphones, some might consider it the « year of the notch ». Despite the display cut out debuting in early 2017 with Essential PH-1, the trend for Android phones didn’t really gain momentum until this year, with most looking similar to that of Apple’s iPhone X. For its flagship handset, the Pixel 3 XL, Google has also chosen to incorporate the notch into its handset, but now it seems a strange software glitch is taking the notch thing a bit too far.
There have been various reports online from users experiencing the phenomenon that puts a second display notch on the screen of the Pixel 3 XL. While this is quite a strange thing to experience, the problem can be solved by restarting the phone. Luckily, Google is already aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
Although this is a little bit of an issue, don’t let the problem affect your buying decision. If you need a more in-depth look to push you over the edge, be sure to read Rich Woods’ review of the Pixel 3 XL.
