As the rest of college football’s national-championship contenders fought for their very playoff lives Saturday, the unbeaten Irish kicked back with their feet up. Good for them, all kidding aside. They’ve played their way into the final four, and all they had to do as playoff implications churned elsewhere was sip cream soda through a straw and wait for their assignment.
