Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney admitted that the United States of America is the best democracy on Earth — and he believes former President George H. W. Bush was the most honorable man to set foot in the Oval Office.
Mulroney served the Canadian people as prime minister from 1984 to 1993, working closely with Bush during his time as vice president and president as the two nations navigated the end of the Cold War.
The two became very close friends during their work together, especially while negotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement ( NAFTA), which the two leaders championed
Mulroney was chosen to deliver a eulogy for Bush, honoring the United States and the president’s service during his term.
