Former Trump adviser Roger Stone expected to plead not guilty in Mueller probe court hearing

Self-proclaimed dirty trickster said he has ‘no idea’ what it will involve but he is ‘resilient’
The Roger Stone circus will go to Washington on Tuesday when the long-time adviser to Donald Trump is arraigned on charges brought by the special counsel investigating alleged Russian election interference, to which he is expected to plead not guilty.
Stone, a veteran Republican operative, is set to appear at 11am at the US district court for the District of Columbia, following in the footsteps of Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort last week.
The self-proclaimed dirty trickster said he has “no idea” what the hearing will involve but he is “resilient”.
On Friday Stone, 66, was arrested at his waterfront home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during a predawn FBI raid he compared to that by the US Navy Seals who killed Osama bin Laden. He was charged in a seven-count indictment that includes witness tampering, obstruction and false statements.
The indictment claims Stone shared with Trump campaign staff advance knowledge of WikiLeaks’ plan to release senior Democrats’ emails, which US intelligence claims were stolen by Russians.
