Jeff Fowler, director of the upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie, announced two days after the trailer’s release that due to criticism on social media, the movie studio will be redesigning the speedster before the film’s November release.
“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes,” Fowler tweeted. “It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be”

On Tuesday, Paramount released the trailer, which features a CGI version of the blue hedgehog causing an energy surge that knocks out power to the entire pacific northwest.
