Square Enix will once again hold its own press conference for E3 2019. These are the biggest games we want the company to show during the event, including the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake and sequels to a few series that have long been forgotten or otherwise ignored.
Square Enix will be holding its own press conference at E3 2019, offering fans a look at its upcoming library of games. The company owns a plethora of franchises at this point, so the possibilities are nearly endless. There are several games we’re hoping to see this year that include the long-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake and the newly announced Marvel’s Avengers. You won’t want to miss out on any of the action this year if you’re looking forward to the awesome list of upcoming games Square Enix has lined up.
The Square Enix press conference will be held on June 10 at 6 p.m PT/9 p.m. ET. Square Enix livestreams its E3 press conferences when it hosts them each year, and you can expect to watch the event in a few places. The first is the YouTube channel SquareEnixPresents, which is dedicated to industry events. You can also try the Japanese game publisher’s Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter pages, as well as the official website.
Square Enix has already confirmed or heavily teased several games for inclusion at E3 2019. These include a highly-anticipated superhero game, as well as a remake of one of the most-acclaimed games from the original PlayStation.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake project was originally announced back in 2015, and gave the series’ fans a look at a real-time combat system and gorgeous visuals that managed to keep the spirit of the original PlayStation game intact. Since its announcement, the game has gone through some development hiccups that include moving the project to internal teams. There has been very little new information on its status, minus a peek at the game with a new teaser trailer during a PlayStation State of Play.
Square Enix has an opportunity to fix that at its conference this year, possibly with an extended gameplay presentation and, if we’re really lucky, a release date. At this point, any indication that the project is progressing smoothly would be welcome.
Crystal Dynamics led development on the first two games in the recent Tomb Raider reboot series, but it handed off duties to Eidos Montreal for Shadow of the Tomb Raider as it shifted its focus to an untitled Avengers project. We know very little about what the game will involve, other than that it will feature characters and environments that fans will recognize and will tell an original story.
