The total COVID-19 case count is now 43,207 with 4,020 deaths. There were an additional 851 cases and 154 deaths reported Saturday, according to state data. The death total includes 75 found in reviews of older death certificates.
The state reported 15,659 people had recovered, defined as alive 30 days post-onset, from coronavirus as of May 2. This is up from the 8,342 reported recoveries as of April 24.
Fatality rate: 9%
This is out of those with known confirmed cases reported. Officials previously have said more testing of mild cases can cause the fatality rate to fall.
