Like Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill, John Boyega quickly developed a reputation for being refreshingly candid, openly criticizing Disney for dodgy creative decisions, and even making fun of annoying Star Wars fans on social media.
Now, that outspoken attitude has led to activism; rather than live-streaming a supportive message on Instagram from the safety of a walled mansion, Boyega joined a Black Lives Matter rally in London’s Hyde Park, delivering a passionate speech that was widely lauded.
