Moscow officially began mass distribution of its coronavirus vaccine on Saturday, making the Sputnik V COVID-19 shot available to the public at 70 different clinics within the city. Doctors, teachers, medical workers and others with a high risk of exposure to the virus are set to be the first to receive the shot, the city announced in a press release. “Over the first five hours,5,000 people signed up for the jab – teachers, doctors, social workers, those who are today risking their health and lives the most,” Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his personal blog on Friday.
