Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that “nobody predicted” the Afghan government would “fall in 11 days.” Anchor Martha Raddatz said, “The president has said the intelligence absolutely did not show that anybody that the Taliban could take over in 11 days. What’s the earliest you were aware that could happen?” Austin said, “There were assessments that ranged from one to two years to several months. It was a wide range of assessments.
