Atlanta Braves officials keep ruining a perfectly wonderful story, and they’re doing so with all of that other stuff heading into the World Series. I mean, Travis Tritt singing the national anthem? And why are they still encouraging chopping and chanting at their home games?
Atlanta Braves officials keep ruining a perfectly wonderful story, and they’re doing so with all of that other stuff. I mean, why? Why Travis Tritt? Why the chopping and the chanting? Why move closer to embarrassment on national television at the end of the week courtesy of those things and whatever other self-inflicted horrors you might have for yourselves around Halloween? Why can’t Braves officials let everybody enjoy the reasons this franchise has one of the most amazing teams ever to win a pennant as the Braves prepare to open the World Series Tuesday night in Houston against the Astros? Regarding the Braves’ miracle in progress: Acuna, Ozuna and d’Arnaud were 2020 National League Silver Slugger winners, meaning they were the best hitters at their position. Without that trio, the Braves never broke.500 for the season until early August, but management made six deals around the July 31 trade deadline to help the Braves win the NL East for the fourth consecutive year. Then they handled the favored Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Division Series. After that, the Braves forgot they blew leads of 2-0 and 3-1 in their best-of-seven NL Championship Series last season against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
