Nintendo explains to investors that the Switch console is probably sticking around for quite some time.
Nintendo is making one thing very clear: The Nintendo Switch isn’t being replaced anytime soon. Many hope the nearly five-year-old hybrid console will get a successor in the near future, but in an investors Q&A call, Nintendo explained that the console was « in the middle phase of cycle, » as highlighted in the transcript of the call by industry analyst David Gibson. Nintendo also released a 48-page document (PDF), which included reference to the Switch’s successor arriving in « 20XX.
