We’ve rounded up the best early Black Friday mattress deals from available now.
There are many Black Friday mattress deals already live, with new discounts arriving daily. So if you have been waiting for the lowest mattress prices of the year, these are now beginning to appear, though we’re still waiting on a few big brands to launch their full complement of sales. The latest Black Friday mattress deals are a mix of money off, or that plus free gifts, so some are better value than others. There are a few frontrunners among the best deals too: namely Nectar, Saatva, and PlushBeds. The first two sit at the top of our best mattress guide, while the latter is a popular organic option. If you want an affordable memory foam mattress with money off and free bedding, head to Nectar, which has up to a $400 off mattresses plus $399 of free gifts – it’s phenomenal value. (Nectar US isn’t calling this a Black Friday mattress deal yet, but it has dropped its prices to the same levels we saw last Black Friday and we don’t expect them to fall any lower.) Saatva has teamed up with us to offer an exclusive $250 discount when you spend $1,000 or more. PlushBeds has the biggest Black Friday mattress deal in the organic sector, with up to $1,250 off plus $549 of free gifts. Most of the best Black Friday mattress deals usually launch within a week or so of actual Black Friday (November 26 this year), so if you’re looking to make the biggest savings, consider waiting a little longer. That said, there are a few things to be aware of this year. Firstly, the mattress industry has been hit with supply chain issues, resulting in delivery backlogs for some brands. This will worsen as demand increases over the holiday season, so if you need a new mattress now – or can’t risk delays – we’d recommend choosing one of the deals here. There’s also a chance that mattress prices won’t fall as low this Black Friday as they did last year. Again, that’s due to supply chain issues, and while the problem isn’t limited to the mattress industry, we can’t guarantee that waiting for a deal will result in a huge additional saving. Most of the best mattress deals are likely to appear in the week or two before Black Friday, if previous years are anything to go by – bar some flash sales that may happen earlier in November. So, if you’re looking for the cheapest price possible, and can cope with your mattress not necessarily arriving on time, we’d recommend hanging on until at least early November to get the most value for your money. We can’t be sure prices will drop as low this year though due to supply chain issues, so waiting won’t necessarily guarantee you a killer saving. Plus, if you’re in a hurry for a new mattress, then we absolutely recommend buying now. There are good deals around – especially on our top picks, the Saatva Classic and Nectar Memory Foam mattresses. You’re just more likely to save an extra $25-$150 in a few weeks’ time. While the vast majority of the best Black Friday mattress deals will happen in Thanksgiving week, there were a few notable exceptions to this trend in the US last year. Nectar’s cheapest prices of the year, for example, came via a flash sale on November 1. The company removed the free gifts from its usual offer, and instead dropped the mattress prices to their lowest ever. A twin-sized Nectar Memory Foam mattress cost just $374 (down from $499), while a queen dropped from $799 to $599. Prices then returned to usual and the normal deal resumed, and remained in place on Black Friday itself. Luxury mattress maker Saatva, too, offered a huge $275 discount on its mattresses a few days before Black Friday – before then returning to its typical $200 discount. We’re expecting to see more flash sales this year, so stay tuned… Another buck from the trend worth noting is that Purple offered a better-value deal on Cyber Monday than Black Friday. We saw it coming though, and if the same thing looks like it’s going to happen again this year, we’ll tell you. We’ll be tracking all the best Black Friday mattress deals here, so if prices drop to their lowest ever before the event we’ll let you know. And if any deal looks like it might be better on Cyber Monday, we’ll give you a heads-up about that too. We think we’ll see many of the same online Black Friday mattress deals this year as in previous years. However, whether the actual prices will drop as low as they did last year, we don’t yet know – material shortages and supply chain issues have forced some prices up as we’ve mentioned. Still, Nectar’s current sale is a good omen. Here are our top predictions for the US: And for the UK: Short answer: yes. Black Friday is a brilliant time to buy a new mattress in both the US and UK. That’s because, as a rule, mattress prices are the lowest you’ll find them all year. However, Black Friday isn’t the only time prices drop this low – we often see Black Friday pricing reappear during the President’s Day mattress sales in February, as retailers look to entice people to start spending again after the holiday sales period. There are plenty of other big mattress sales throughout the year, too. Any national holiday normally has big mattress discounts – the classic is the Memorial Day mattress sales in May, but there are July 4th mattress sales, Labor Day mattress sales and so on. It’s important to point out, though, that while the discounts may look the same in each sale, the actual prices often aren’t. Typically the best time to save money on a mattress is Black Friday and President’s Day; the next lowest prices are usually found on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day; and the worst time to buy a mattress is in the summer sales and the end of October, when many companies hike up their prices before dropping them for Black Friday.
