'General Hospital' Stars Pay Tribute to Bergen Williams After Her Death Aged 63

The actress, famed for her role as « Big Alice » Gunderson on « General Hospital », passed away in July, it was announced this week.
Actress Bergen Williams, best known for her 13-year role as housekeeper and wrestler « Big Alice » Gunderson on General Hospital, has died aged 62. Her sister took to Twitter on Tuesday to revealed that Williams had died on July 20 of Wilson’s Disease, a rare condition that causes copper to accumulate in vital organs and can lead to brain, liver and kidney issues. « Bergen Williams succumbed to the ravages of Wilson’s Disease surrounded by loving family, » read the announcement. « Bergen was a writer, investor and actress who played Big Alice on the TV soap General Hospital. » While on the long-running ABC soap, California-born Williams proved popular in her comedic role as Big Alice, a resident housekeeper for the Quartermaine family who also led a double life as a wrestler going by the name The Dominator. Williams made her final appearance on the daytime soap in 2014. After her passing was announced this week, a host of Williams’ General Hospital co-stars took to social media to pay tribute to the late actress. Wally Kurth, who plays Ned Quartermaine on the show, wrote on Twitter: « Sending heartfelt condolences to Bergen’s family. She was a bright light in the Q house for many years. RIP. » « RIP, » read a simple message from Laura Wright, who has played Carly Corinthos on the soap for 16 years.
