A video of a flight attendant singing that passengers do not need their face masks anymore is going viral. The short video showed the male steward walking through a plane aisle while holding a plastic bag, telling flyers they can « throw away their masks. » Laughter, cheers and applause can be heard from the passengers. Another steward can be seen laughing in the background as her colleagues asks for the passengers’ masks. It is not clear what airline the steward is with or what flight the passengers are on. The video has also so far been viewed over 220,000 times on Twitter. On Monday Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump, ruled that the federal mask mandate on airplanes, trains and buses « exceeded » the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Preventions’ ( CDC) authority. Following the ruling, the Transit Security Administration (TSA) said it would not enforce the mandate and airlines quickly announced that masking is now optional.
