An Israeli air strike on a crowded Gaza refugee camp killed a senior leader of the Islamic Jihad terrorist group, officials said Sunday.
The commander, Khaled Mansour, was killed in an airstrike on an apartment building in the Rafah refugee camp in southern Gaza late Saturday, Israeli officials said.
Mansour’s death marked Israel’s second targeted attack since launching a military offensive against the Iran-backed militant group on Friday.
The Islamic Jihad commander for southern Gaza was in the apartment of a member of the group when the missile struck, flattening the three-story building and badly damaging nearby houses.
