Former Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule accepts Nebraska head coaching job

Lincoln, Neb. — Former Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule has accepted the head coaching position at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the school announced Saturday.
Rhule, 47, is set to become the Cornhuskers’ 31st permanent head coach.
The terms of Rhule’s new contract weren’t immediately available on Saturday morning.
On Monday, Nebraska Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Trev Alberts will introduce Rhule, the university announced on its website.

« It is a tremendous honor to be chosen to lead the Nebraska Football program, » Rhule said in a news release.
