Jon Voight praised his estranged daughter, Angelina Jolie, and his 15-year-old granddaughter, Vivienne, after they won a Tony award for best musical last weekend.
“It’s amazing,” he told TMZ, referring to the mother-daughter duo’s win for the musical they co-produced, “The Outsiders.”
“[I’m] very proud of Vivienne and very proud of Angie because she really tries to encourage each of the kids to be what they want to be.”
The “Anaconda” actor, 85, said Vivienne, who is credited as an assistant and co-producer on the Broadway version of “The Outsiders,” introduced the “Maleficient” actress, 49, to the musical after seeing it multiple times in San Diego.
“Vivienne read the book and then went down to see this pre-Broadway version close to San Diego,” he explained.
