A motorcade apparently carrying WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange left Saipan International Airport on the remote US territory ahead of his expected guilty plea.
Julian Assange has arrived at court in the far-flung US city of Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands ahead of his expected guilty plea in the federal courthouse there.
The WikiLeaks founder is expected to plead guilty to one federal felony count on Wednesday morning local time in the US territory before he goes back home to Australia for the first time in years.
His private jet was spotted arriving at Saipan International Airport, followed by a motorcade that took him to the court.
Under the terms of the plea, he won’t spend another day behind bars after he received credit for the time he spent in a high-security British prison.
