Katie Ledecky Nears Record as Most Decorated Female Olympic Swimmer

Katie Ledecky moves closer to Olympic history with a bronze medal in freestyle, now just one medal away from tying the record for most decorated female Olympic swimmer.
Katie Ledecky dove into the pool on Saturday chasing history in the 400-meter freestyle. She inched closer to it finishing with a bronze medal.
With the medal, Ledecky has pulled within one of tying the Olympic record of 12 held by Jenny Thompson, Dara Torres, and Natalie Coughlin.
The 27-year-old finished with a time of 4:00.86 in one of the most anticipated races of the Games. Australian Ariarne Titmus, defending her gold medal from Tokyo with another world-record performance finishing with a time of 3:57.49, and Canadian teenage sensation Summer McIntosh, 17, finished with a silver at 3:58.37.
The race itself was eight lengths of the pool and had the crowd on the edge of its seats from start to finish.
