The FAA said a a plane’s « wingtip struck the tail » of another aircraft.
Two Delta airplanes reportedly collided on the airport runway in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday morning.
On X, formerly Twitter, Flightradar24 wrote, « Based on playback, it appears to be a ground collision between a Delta A350 and Delta Connection CRJ-900 that resulted in the vertical and horizontal stabilizer of the CRJ being severed from the aircraft. »
Jason Adams, a meteorologist with ABC affiliate station WFTS-TV in Tampa, Florida, said he was aboard one of the aircraft. He also shared a series of posts on X that detailed the incident.
