The Tampa Bay Rays released a statement Thursday after images and videos of Hurricane Milton tearing the roof off Tropicana Field spread far and wide.
Images and videos of Hurricane Milton’s damage across the state of Florida spread across the internet Thursday.
Perhaps none were more powerful than those showing the storm blowing the roof off Tropicana Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays.
Thursday afternoon, the Rays released a statement in response to the outpouring of sentiment from locals and non-locals alike.
« During the past couple weeks, our beloved city, region and state have been impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. We are devastated by the damage incurred by so many », the statement read. « Our priority is supporting our community and our staff. We are fortunate and grateful that no one was hurt by the damage to our ballpark last night.
