President Donald Trump said the White House has « tremendous power » to run U.S. cities « when we have to » in response to a question about New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist.
When asked, « How do you want Republican voters in NYC to vote in the upcoming mayoral election, should they vote for Eric Adams, should they vote for Curtis Sliwa? »
After he criticized Mamdani as a « disaster » who has sold New Yorkers a « good line of bull—-« , he noted that Sliwa, the Republican candidate, « runs every four years » and acknowledged Democrat Eric Adams, the current officeholder, is running as an independent.
