15-year-old Owen Cooper made history tonight as the youngest male actor to win a Primetime Emmy Award.
Cooper won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited/Anthology Series for his portrayal of Jamie Miller in the intense and acclaimed award-winning Netflix crime-drama miniseries, Adolescence.
The previous youngest male Emmy winner was Scott Jacoby, who won at the age of 16 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for his work in the 1972 made-for-TV film That Certain Summer.
On the women’s side, the youngest ever female Emmy winner was Roxana Zal at just 14 years old for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Special in the 1984 television film Something About Amelia.
