Twitter continues to face issues as its China head announced her departure after assuming the position only eight months earlier. The company’s managing director in Greater China, Kathy Chen, tweeted her decision through 12 messages on the social media site.

Chen stated that it was the « right time » for her to depart as the Twitter APAC team is now on the firm ground, adding that she will « take some time off to recharge, study about different cultures and then pursue more international business opportunities. »
Twitter is officially banned in China and the company operates through its office in Hong Kong. The company uses Hong Kong base to focus on Chinese advertisers and collaborates with developers as well.
