Saudi authorities say two men suspected of plotting terrorist attacks killed themselves using explosive belts during a police raid in the west of the kingdom.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement carried on the official Saudi Press Agency that the suspects blew themselves up Saturday in the city of Jiddah after an exchange of fire with security forces seeking their arrest. There were no other casualties.
Authorities say security forces arrested a Saudi man and his Pakistani wife in a separate terror raid.
Saudi Arabia has been targeted with a number of deadly suicide bombings and other attacks claimed by the Islamic State group in recent years. The country is part of the U. S.-led coalition fighting the group in Iraq and Syria.
