Former President Obama office released a statement Monday saying Obama « fundamentally disagrees with any notion of discriminating because of faith or religion. »
The statement says the former president is « heartened by the level of engagement » by Americans who have taken to « assemble, organize and have their voices heard » in defiance of the immigration ban instituted by President Trump over the weekend.
It’s « exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake, » the statement read.
