Japan’s Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso said Toshiba should decide swiftly whether its U. S. nuclear subsidiary will seek protection under U. S. bankruptcy laws.
TOKYO—Japan’s deputy prime minister said Friday that Toshiba Corp. should decide swiftly whether its U. S. nuclear subsidiary will seek protection under U. S. bankruptcy laws, one of the most explicit references so far to a bankruptcy filing.
Toshiba said last month that it expected to record a write-down of ¥712.
