The Merced County District Attorney’s Office filed charges Wednesday against an 18-year-old woman accused of getting into a deadly car accident while streaming live video on Instagram. Obdulia Sanchez appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to all charges. According to Chief Deputy District Attorney Harold Nutt, 18-year-old Obdulia Sanchez has been charged with: She faces a maximum sentence of 13 years, eight months in state prison if she is convicted of these charges. The District Attorney’s Office said Obdulia’s blood alcohol level was 0.10. Obdulia’s sister, 14-year-old Jacqueline Sanchez, was killed in the crash. A 14-year-old passenger was injured in the crash. »I (expletive) killed my sister, OK? I know I’m going to jail for life, alright? I understand that, » Obdulia Sanchez said in the live video. « The is the last thing I want to happen, OK? Alright? I don’t (expletive) care though, I’m gonna hold it down. If you don’t survive, I’m so (expletive) sorry. »Her father, Nicandro Sanchez, has called it an unexplainable accident. The California Highway Patrol said Sanchez was under the influence when she rolled her car over, into a barbed wire fence and then a field near Henry Miller Road and Highway 165 outside of Los Banos in Merced County. Sanchez will be arraigned Wednesday afternoon. If convicted, the district attorney’s office said she faces a maximum sentence of 13 years and eight months in state prison. »The behavior demonstrated both prior to and after the incident, as documented by the defendant’s own recording, is disturbing and shocking, » said Nutt. « The Merced County District Attorney’s Office will do everything in its power to see that justice is done in this matter. »The investigation is ongoing. The district attorney’s office has not ruled out the possibility of additional charges. Prosecutors say Sanchez could spend more than 13 years in state prison if convicted of all the charges.
