Steve Bannon helped Trump capture the imaginations and votes of Americans, pushing him past President Obama and his Democrat’s no-growth, no-jobs policies.
WASHINGTON, August 19,2017 — Stephen Bannon, the man most responsible for making Donald Trump the nation’s 45th president, was fired from his post as White House chief strategist on Friday.
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Bannon helped Trump hone his populist, politically-incorrect campaign message on illegal an Muslim immigration, Obamacare repeal and trade deals that captured the imaginations and votes of Americans squeezed by President Obama and his Democrat’s no-growth, no-jobs policies.
When on November 8th Mr. Trump won against all odds and media prognostications, Mr. Bannon was singled out as the man most responsible for crushing the presidential ambitions of Hillary Clinton and the dreams of her supporters in the mainstream media and Hollywood.
“He’s been the forerunner intellectually of this moment, ” Democratic pollster Pat Caddell said of Bannon to the New York Times. “His ideology is that of the outsider and the insurgent.”
Worse still, Bannon advised Trump to use his presidential bully pulpit as a counterweight to the biased media. “You’ re the opposition party, ” Bannon told the Times, not the Democratic Party… The media’s the opposition party.”
The socialists at The Nation magazine described Bannon as a member in good standing with “white nationalists in business suits or khakis and polo shirts.”
The left-wing smear was picked up by the mainstream media, which grew to a crescendo the day alt-right neo-Nazis and alt-left neo-Stalinists clashed in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the absurd controversy surrounding bronze statues of long-dead Confederate military men.
Media criticism grew when President Trump waited two days to feign concern at the stupidity of two violent and extreme factions clashing over the absurd non-issue of bronzes.
Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi tweeted:
“If Donald Trump is sincere about rejecting alt-right white supremacists sympathizers, he should start at the White House. #FireBannon.”
But sincerity is a commodity in short supply for Pelosi, her party and those hellbent on tearing down green-patinaed equestrian statues.
The 1856 Democratic Party convention, which nominated James Buchanan for president – Republican emancipator Abraham Lincoln’s predecessor – issued a party platform that said in part:
“… all efforts of the Abolitionists, or others, made to induce Congress to interfere with the questions of slavery, or to take incipient steps in relation thereto, are calculated to lead to the most alarming and dangerous consequences… and therefore, the Democratic party of the Union, standing on this national platform, will abide by and adhere to a faithful execution of the acts known as the Compromise measures, settled by the Congress of 1850; ‘the act for reclaiming fugitives from service or labor…’ ”
The “Fugitive Slave Acts” of 1850 required local governments, North and South, to return runaway slaves to their owners, levying heavy fines against those aiding in their escape.
If Charlottesville demonstrators, Pelosi and the media were truly sincere about the nation’s hateful legacy of slavery, they would stop demanding the toppling of cold, unfeeling statues and, instead, demand the dissolution of the cold, unfeeling political party that supported chattel slavery, the recovery of escaped slaves, worked to counter the civil rights amendments to the U. S. Constitution through Jim Crow laws and the suppression of the vote, which the modern Democratic Party expanded upon when disenfranchising Bernie Sanders’ supporters by rigging their primaries in favor of Hillary Clinton.
Toppling hollow, metallic representations of Confederate Civil War generals is an empty, insincere gesture compared to the toppling of hollow, insincere representatives – Nancy Pelosi and her colleagues – who represent a certain political party with a horrific and very dark past and present.
Instead, we are supposed to take comfort in Steve Bannon’s firing. That’s because Democrats and the media believe Bannon’s ouster may prove Trump’s political undoing.
And they may be right.
