The release adds TPROXY netfilter target module (ARM only)
This new release updates nano (2.8.6) and Curl (7.54.1) versions, fixes CVE-2017-11344, CVE-2017-11345 and CVE-2017-11420 security issues in network-map, resolves URL filtering problems over IPv4, and adds missing hash types to ipset_arm.
In addition to that, Merlin switches WebUI menu generation code to GPL 382 code as it is easier to maintain, re-organizes VPN pages, forces the VPNStatus page to refresh every 5 seconds, and adds Upload button and revamped certificate info display when managing SSL certificates.
Last but not least, the developer reduces the amount of logging done for an OpenVPN client in certain situations, and implements several other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.
As for the targeted router models, there are separate files available for ASUS’ RT-N66, RT-AC56
RT-AC66, RT-AC68, RT-AC87, RT-AC88, RT-AC1900, RT-AC3100, RT-AC3200, and RT-AC5300 wireless devices.
If you intend to upgrade one of these products, save the appropriate package for your device model, unzip it, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.
That said, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 380.68.0 for your specific device, apply it, and check back with us as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
