Fans think Demi Lovato is hinting at feelings for Nick Jonas in new songs

Demi Lovato appears to sing about « Camp Rock » co-star Nick Jonas in the songs « Ruin the Friendship » and « Only Forever. »
Sept. 29 (UPI) — Demi Lovato hints at feelings for longtime friend Nick Jonas in new songs from her album Tell Me You Love Me .
Fans speculated on social media this week after Lovato appeared to sing about her Camp Rock co-star in the songs « Ruin the Friendship » and « Only Forever. »
« Ruin The Friendship and Only Forever are like 99% about Nick Jonas, » one person tweeted Wednesday.
« ruin the friendship and only forever are about nick and how she had feelings for him. what is going on this day? » another fan wrote .
« So basically Demi is saying that’s she’s waiting for Nick to make a move on her in Only Forever, » another person suggested .
Lovato tells the object of her affection to « Put down your cigar and pick me up (pick me up) / Play me your guitar, that song I love (song I love) » in « Ruin the Friendship, » and urges her love interest « to make a move » in « Only Forever. »
« You know when we get close / Can’t deny the tension between us both / And I don’t wanna pressure you, but I think you need to make a move / I’ve been waiting (I’ve been waiting) / And I’ll keep waiting (I’ve been waiting) / Only forever, » she sings.
Lovato confirmed in an interview with Vice’s Noisey published Wednesday that « Ruin the Friendship » and « Only Forever » are about the same person, but didn’t mention her crush by name.
« I was frustrated with a certain situation, » the star recalled. « And I was like, ‘You know what, I’m just going to write about it.’ And so I did, and sent [the songs] to that person, and that was interesting. »
« They knew [about my feelings], but neither of us had acknowledged [them] before, » she shared. « And then it turned out that person had written a song about me, and we exchanged songs. That person was like, ‘That’s an incredible song.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, well. It’s like, Hel-lo!' »
