A man arrived at a Sacramento hospital Saturday morning with a severe gunshot wound he received at a house party in the Meadowview area, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
When police arrived at the hospital, the man told officers he had been shot at a different location, but all the evidence points to the house party, said Officer Eddie Macaulay, Sacramento Police Department spokesman. The man’s car was found near the house party.
The man underwent surgery for his injuries. Officers do not have any suspects.
This is the latest in a series of house party shootings this year. Macaulay said these incidences appear to be isolated.
“The common denominator is that someone was having a house party,” he said.
Information about house parties typically circulates on social media and can draw large crowds of uninvited guests to a single residence. The frequent presence of alcohol and drugs at these events can also contribute to violence erupting among partygoers.
