Christina Aguilera will celebrate Whitney Houston and « The Bodyguard » at the 2017 American Music Awards.
Oct. 30 (UPI) — Christina Aguilera will honor late singer Whitney Houston at the 2017 American Music Awards.
The 36-year-old recording artist will celebrate Houston and the 25th anniversary of her movie The Bodyguard at the annual awards show in November.

Aguilera will perform a musical tribute to Houston, who died at age 48 in February 2012. She said in an Instagram post that she’s « excited » to honor Houston at the ceremony, which will take place Nov. 19.

The Bodyguard, which opened in theaters in November 1992, co-starred Houston and actor Kevin Costner. The movie’s soundtrack featured several songs from Houston, including a cover of « I Will Always Love You. »
Aguilera released the album Lotus in 2012, and recorded the single « Change » in 2016 following the Orlando nightclub shooting. She served as a judge in several seasons of the NBC reality competition The Voice.
