LG unveiled the V30 and V30+ ( first impressions) at IFA in Berlin in August as the world’s first smartphones to boast a P-OLED FullVision screen and camera aperture of f/1.6. The brand announced that it would be launching the V30+ in India on December 13th, and has now launched the device at an event held in New Delhi. Notably, the V30+ is the higher storage variant of the V30, and comes with 128GB of storage as opposed to 64GB on the latter. The other specifications remain the same.
To recap on the specs of the V30+, the handset flaunts a 6-inch QHD+ display with nearly no bezels and a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It comes with IP68 certification, which means that it is protected against water and dust. On the performance side, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor mated to 4GB RAM ticking at its core. The security measures on the handset include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, facial and voice recognition. It runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box and is slated to get the Android Oreo update soon.
Moving on to the camera department, the LG V30+ comes with a 16-megapixel + 13-megapixel setup on the rear panel. It flaunts an aperture of f/1.6, OIS, EIS, 3-axis stabilisation, laser and phase detection autofocus. For selfies and video calling, the flagship gets a 5-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 aperture. For audiophiles, the handset features a 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by ESS Technology’s SABRE ES9218P. Keeping the phone alive is a 3,300mAh battery with wireless charging support. For connectivity, there is 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, VoLTE, USB Type-C, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and A-GPS.
LG is offering the device in two hues – Aurora Black and Cloud Silver. It will be exclusive to Amazon in the country and will set you back by Rs 44,900. The sale kicks of from December 18th. LG is including a free wireless charger worth Rs 3,000 with the device, and is also offering a one-time screen replacement.
