A popular sous vide immersion circulator got a little help from a Reddit user for its newest feature — voice controls via Alexa, Amazon’s voice-activated virtual assistant. You’ll be able to use an Alexa-enabled smart speaker to control the Anova Precision Cooker Bluetooth + Wi-Fi , Anova announced this weekend at the International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago.
The Anova Skill will be available this month, according to a blog post from Anova. The company is also working on integration with the Google Home smart speaker.
If you have an Alexa-enabled speaker and enable the Skill, you can to ask Alexa to tell your Anova to set a temperature, cook time, check on the status of your cooking cycle, search for recipes and other tasks.
