New CU for systems running Windows 10 Creators Update
Windows 10 cumulative update KB4020102 is all about bug fixes and performance improvements, as it’s the case with every similar update, and boosts OS version to 15063.332.
First and foremost, there are two important bug fixes for Internet Explorer users, both of them super-important despite the fact that Microsoft Edge is now the default browser in the OS.
The browser is getting a patch for the problem causing it not to respect the policy called “Send all sites not included in the Enterprise Mode Site List to Microsoft Edge” when opening favorites. In addition, the update also addresses an issue in IE11 where a non-administrator user is not able to install an ActiveX control, so make sure you install it if you use Internet Explorer on a regular basis.
There’s also a bug fix for a problem reported by a number of users who installed the Creators Update and impacting audio output through external decoders. KB4020102 fixes the bug and everything should work correctly now.
Then, Windows 10 Creators Update users are getting a fix for the bug causing non-Unicode fonts to not render characters correctly on non-Latin single-byte system locales.
You can check out the full changelog in the box after the jump, and users are strongly recommended to install the cumulative update as soon as possible on their Windows 10 systems.
As far as issues that could be experienced with this update, there are none so far, but more information should surface as users receive the update and install it on their systems. We’ ll keep an eye on reports and let you know if any bugs are discovered. Microsoft says that for the moment it’s not aware of any problems.
