Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez said in his Memorial Day message that “remembrance is not enough” for repaying U. S. military veterans.
“We must honor the sacrifices of the fallen by working to ensure that every living veteran receives the best possible care from the country they served, ” he said in a statement Monday.
“Those who answer our nation’s call to service represent the absolute best of America, ” Perez added.

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) said during an interview on CNN last Friday that he is working to recruit more veterans into running for office as they put “country first over politics.”
The Iraq War veteran told Politico last month that 22 fellow veterans have committed to launching 2018 House campaigns or are seriously discussing the possibility with Democrats.
“I don’ t think you have to be a veteran to run for office, but when you’ re looking for a group of people who might be able to rise above the bitter partisan gridlock, veterans are a good place to look, ” he said.
