Microsoft has announced that it’s signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cloudyn, a company that helps business and enterprise customers to analyze and optimize their investments in cloud services.
Three weeks ago, Microsoft revealed its planned acquisition of Hexadite, integrating its security incident detection, investigation and remediation tools into its Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection suite.
Today, Microsoft announced that it’s acquiring Cloudyn — a purchase that will help its Azure business customers to «optimize their investments in cloud services». Microsoft said that the deal will ensure that its customers «have access to enterprise-grade management capabilities for detailed visibility into their Azure consumption, cost and performance in order to stay within budget and ensure business success.»
Cloudyn was already a Microsoft partner, providing tools to business and enterprise customers using Azure services, as well as other cloud platforms. Microsoft said that one Fortune 500 business in the US «has seen a 286 percent return on investment with regard to their cloud efficiencies» since using Cloudyn’s tools to analyze and manage their cloud assets.
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, and the deal is still subject to regulatory approval before it can be finalized.
