Donald Trump isn’ t the only American who should (allegedly) thank Russia for a recent win.
Last week’s “Russia Week” on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” beat Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show” by a giant viewership margin. The difference of 450,000 total viewers is actually the biggest gap the “Late Show” has won by since Colbert started in September 2015.
“The Late Show” averaged 2.87 million total viewers in the week ending on July 21 — up 14 percent compared to the same one last year. The CBS talker topped “The Tonight Show” originals by a whopping 19 percent, in terms of overall audience.
It wasn’ t a clean sweep for Colbert, however: Fallon still topped the key 18-49 demographic, which he still wins each week.
Colbert recently traveled to St. Petersburg and Moscow. Those taped segments debuted across last week’s “Late Show” episodes.
