Winter has leaked.
The latest episode of «Game of Thrones» — which is set to air on HBO Sunday night — has reportedly leaked online. However, it has not been determined if the episode was leaked in relation to the recent hack the network faced this week.
Episode 4 of Season 7 appears to be authentic, the Verge confirms. It was posted on a Reddit thread with a Google Drive link and features a «for internal viewing only» watermark, according to the site.
Initially, hackers published script outlines of upcoming episodes and now the full episode was shared, leading to specualtion that it might be from the same hacking group. The link is still posted to Reddit. However, the Google Drive file has reportedly been viewed too many times to continue to successfully stream.
HBO hack may have been worse than Sony’s
Before the episode was published online, an automated email from the hacking group to Variety insisted that new data would be released gradually each week.
The group also specified this Sunday at 12 p.m.
HBO sent out an internal email to employees addressing the hack on Thursday.
«We do not believe that our email system as a whole has been compromised, » CEO Richard Plepler wrote .
‘Game of Thrones’ script leaked as HBO faces major cyber hack
The network did not address any specifics about what type of information was obtained in the hack.
This isn’t the first time HBO has been subject to a hack — and definitely not the first time «Game of Thrones» was the target.
The first four episodes of Season 5 were leaked online ahead of the release date and a Season 6 episode was accidentally shared a day early. HBO did not provide screeners to the current season to avoid any leaks, but it didn’t help protect the network from hackers.
