President Trump on Tuesday retweeted messages blaming former President Obama for not doing enough to protect the U. S. from North Korea.
Trump first retweeted former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Fox News contributor John Bolton, who blamed former President Obama for increased tensions with North Korea.
«Our country [and] civilians are vulnerable today because Barack Obama Barack Obama Democrats introduce another ‘false hope’ act to immigrants Illinois makes ‘Barack Obama Day’ a state holiday GOP senator: I wish Republicans had stood up to birtherism MORE did not believe in national missile defense. Let’s never forget that, » Bolton said in the tweet Trump retweeted.
The president also retweeted «The Five, » which quoted host Jesse Waters as saying » [Trump] being unpredictable is a big asset, North Korea knew exactly what President Obama was going to do.»
The president wrapped his retweet storm with a tweet from Bloomberg showing the stock market openings surging on Tuesday.
Tensions have been heightened for months amid the accelerating pace of North Korea’s ballistic missile tests and the death of American student Otto Warmbier, who had been held prisoner in the country for 17 months.
But the tensions reached a new high on Tuesday after it was reported that North Korea had developed a miniaturized nuclear warhead capable of being attached to a missile.
Trump responded furiously to that development, telling reporters at his Bedminster, N. J., golf club that if Pyongyang’s threats against the U. S. continued, North Korea would «be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.»
On Wednesday he continued by tweeting about the nuclear arsenal.
